La Paz is home to one of the world’s most unique sport fisheries. La Paz has been the gateway to the Sea of Cortez since the colonial city was founded by the Spaniards. As the capital of the state of Baja California Sur, we like to say we’re “tourist friendly” but not “touristy.” La Paz is a quiet, colorful city that sits calmly on a beautiful Bay with access to incredible fishing waters that will challenge novice and experienced anglers alike with year-round action and several dozen species of gamefish depending on the time of year.
